How Dodow works in 3 easy steps 
Get Ready for Your Night
Tap the touchpad once for the 8 min mode and twice for the 20 min mode. Check your brightness settings if necessary (video below)

Inhale
Follow the faint blue light projected onto the ceiling: breathe in as it gets brighter…

Exhale
…and breathe out when it dims. You may find that the exhalation time is longer. It’s intentional.

Sleep
At the end of the exercise (8/20 minutes) Dodow turns itself off. You can then settle into your desired sleep position, no need to stay on your back.
Dodow isn’t for you if…
– Have a diagnosed sleep issue or have struggled sleeping for years
– Have poor eyesight, too bright of a bedroom or vaulted ceilings
– Need sound to fall asleep
– Expect overnight results in the first 1–2 nights or without practice


What should you expect?
Is Dodow for me?
Dodow helps unlock the process of falling asleep and speeds it up for 75% of users
However, it would be unrealistic to expect a drastic reduction in the time to fall asleep, e.g. from 2 hours to 2 minutes in your first week using Dodow.
Some users have had to practice for some months (yes), but 75% of them report being able to fall asleep faster than before, on their own!
Only half of Dodow users fall asleep at the end of the very first session but many report relaxed feelings after.

Why choose a blue light?
Dodow is blue light used for good. Its’ light intensity is too dim (< 1 lux vs a screen > 70 lux) to prevent melatonin secretion (the sleep hormone). After much testing, we found that this shade provided the best results in relaxation and helping our users fall asleep.

Can’t I just practice breathing without Dodow?
This will require lots of effort (4sec inhalation + 6sec exhalation), so you may not be motivated enough to do it on your own. Or intrusive thoughts may prevent you from dozing off.
Dodow may seem too simple to be effective but simplicity is the key when re-learning to fall asleep.

Choose your session lenght Try a longer session
There are 2 different types of sessions: an 8 min and a 20 min. Try the 20-minute session a few times before returning to the 8 min. Practicing with this longer session leads to more time to adapt. Dodow triggers the parasympathetic automatic nervous system responsible for regulating relaxation & sleep.

I can’t see the light on the ceiling
If the light projected onto the ceiling isn’t quite right, you can always adjust the brightness setting! Check our video guide for more instructions!
How long should you keep trying?
Dodow helps unlock the process of falling asleep and speeds it up.
However, it would be unrealistic to expect a drastic reduction in the time taken to fall asleep, e.g. from 2 hours to 2 minutes on your first week using Dodow.
I have high or vaulted ceilings
If you have very high, vaulted ceilings or a skylight, Dodow may not work for your bedroom.
The light is too dim even after changing the brightness setting!
A dark environment is essential for sleeping. If your bedroom isn’t dark, Dodow isn’t going to make a difference.
My device stopped working or is erratic!
You should reset your Dodow:
1- Open the device and remove the batteries
2- Place the batteries back, placing the middle one last
3- You will see a flash of light coming from the LED
4- You can now close the device, your Dodow has been reset.

Dodow teaches you how to fall asleep by projecting a gentle, pulsing blue halo onto your ceiling. Simply follow the light: breathe in as it expands, breathe out as it fades. The light gradually guides your breathing from 11 down to 6 breaths per minute, naturally easing your body into sleep.
Just place Dodow on your nightstand and tap the touch-sensitive surface once for an 8-minute session or twice for a 20-minute session. Use the included guides to get more tips on making it work.
Could take practice to work but surveyed users report falling asleep up to 2.5 times faster. Dodow is a relaxation aid. Individual results vary. Most users benefit from consistent use over 7–10 nights.
