RapidTrans
A Premiere non-emergency Transportation Service

 

RapidTrans maintain a fleet of vans to transport Chartered Health Plan members for non-emergency medical services.
Transportation services hours:
• RapidTrans drivers will be available to pick you up beginning at 7:30 a.m., Monday – Friday and can drop you off at your return destination as late as 7:30 p.m.

• Saturday pick-up and return services are available beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m.

• Chartered Health Plan Members can schedule transportation to and from your next medical appointment by calling (202) 408-4728, including to:
Your primary care doctor’s appointments
Specialist appointments
Hospitals and Laboratories visits
Health Education Classes
Outpatient Rehabilitation services
Your Case manager’s office or IMA office to re-certify for your Chartered Health Plan benefits.
• Transportation requests require 24-hour advance notice and requests can be scheduled Monday – Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for weekday appointments.

• Requests for transportation services for Saturday medical appointments must be scheduled Monday – Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. No request for Saturday transportation services will be accepted after 4:00 p.m. No requests to schedule appointments will be taken on Saturday

RapidTrans Rider Tips

Make your reservation(s) at least 48 hours or 2-days before of your doctor’s appointment.
Schedule your pick-up at least 1-hour before your medical appointment time.
Notify the RapidTrans Dispatch at least 24 hours in advance at (202) 408-4728 if you will be late or need to cancel your appointment.
RapidTrans’ helpful staff is available to book your reservations Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No reservations are taken on Saturday; reservations for Monday appointments must be made on Friday by 5:00 p.m. If you need same day transportation and have not made a reservation, we will try to assist you on an as available basis.

When making your reservation, inform the staff of the following:

a. Any special conditions pertaining to your appointment;
b. Any special accommodations you require; and
c. The approximate time you need to be picked-up for your return trip, if you know.

If you will be released from a hospital or complete an office visit when transportation services are not available, please call our Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-408-7511 to arrange to have transportation available for you after normal service hours.
Have your membership card and picture ID available to show the driver. Non-Chartered members will be accommodated only if they are the guardians of a member that is a child or is assisting a member with special needs.
RapidTrans driver cannot transport members to any destination other than to/from their homes and to/from their medical appointments.

For your safety and convenience, all passengers must:

a. Wear your seatbelts while aboard a RapidTrans van. Children up to 8 years old must ride in a secured child car seat.
b. Remain seated until the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
c. DO NOT eat, drink, smoke, use profanity, or unruly conduct or bring plastic grocery bags onto RapidTrans vans.

RapidTrans is a non-emergency medical transportation service. Should you need emergency medical treatment, please call 911 for immediate assistance.
