For Our Members Member Services | Language Access

Chartered Health Plan believes that language should not be a barrier to providing quality health care services. If you do not speak English, we can still help. It is our commitment to our members, including those who are limited English proficient (LEP). LEP is an individual who is unable to speak, read, write or understand the English language at a level that permit him or her to interact effectively.

Our language access services are FREE and include:

Translation Services of Vital Documents - All vital documents, such as our Member Handbooks, Provider Directory and Health benefit updates are translated into the following languages:
 
Spanish
Korean
Chinese
Vietnamese
Amharic and
Braille Format
Hearing Impaired - Members are assisted through:
 
TTY/TTD Relay Service (assistance by telephone)
A sign language interpreter (in-person assistance)
Interpreter Services – a competent professional interpreter who is able to speak English and the language requested by you will be available through:
 
A Bilingual Member Service Representatives
Language Line – Interpreter by telephone
In-person (Your provider may request an interpreter on your behalf for your next appointment).

Call our Member Services Department Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on (202) 408-4720 or Toll Free (800) 408-7511 to request interpreter services, a copy of our Member Handbook or other vital documents in your primary language.
