For Our Providers | Language Access

DC Chartered Health Plan, Inc. believes that language should not be a barrier to providing quality health care services. If your Chartered Health Plan patient does not speak English, the following services are available to assist you. It is our commitment to our members and to you as a valued provider, including assisting you with Chartered members who are limited English proficient (LEP).  LEP is an individual who is unable to speak, read, write or understand the English language at a level that permit him or her to interact effectively.

Our language access services are FREE and include:

Hearing Impaired – Providers may obtain assistance through:
A sign language interpreter (in-person assistance) at your office.

Interpreter Services – Providers may obtain a competent professional interpreter, able to speak English and the language required by the Chartered Health Plan patient through:

Language Line – Interpreter by telephone

In-person (Request an interpreter on behalf of your Chartered Health Plan patient for their next appointment).

Call Language Access Services on (800) 874-9426, provide Chartered ID Number 711050 and request the required service on behalf of your Chartered Health Plan patient.
