Chartered has enjoyed over twenty years of success as a District of Columbia-based Medicaid Managed Care Organization and the keystone to our success has been the strong working relationship with our network providers. Since our inception in 1987, Chartered has earned a reputation for supporting the development, growth and operations of our providers, many of who dedicate their lives and livelihoods to the medically needy.

Over the years, Chartered’s Medicaid Provider network has grown into a robust and diverse team that includes:

• More than 326 PCPs, operating at 117 locations across the District;
• Over 300 Pediatricians
• Over 100 OB/GYNs
• A PCP to member ratio of 117:1;
• The largest and most comprehensive facility of its kind east of the Anacostia River in its affiliate, the Chartered Family Health Center;
• A specialty network of over 1,300 professionals supporting its PCP network, representing board certified physicians in over 80 specialty and sub-specialty areas ranging from adolescent medicine to urology;
• LabCorp, a nationally recognized provider of laboratory/diagnostic services;
• CVS Caremark, Pharmacy Benefits Manager and one of the nation’s largest Pharmacy networks, with 108 District pharmacies;
• Access to 6 DC tertiary care hospitals and 3 sub-acute hospitals;
• Access to a network of 281 community behavioral health providers; and two specialty mental health hospitals; and
• A broad array of ancillary service providers.
