DC Chartered Health Plan, Inc. is the oldest Medicaid Managed Care Organization in the Nation’s Capital. In 1987, Chartered pioneered the development of managed health care for D.C. Medicaid beneficiaries receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). We currently serve over 60,000 Medicaid eligible and uninsured recipients of the District of Columbia. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has awarded DC Chartered Health Plan an accreditation status of Commendable for service and clinical quality that meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.
